Job Summary
JICA is a Japanese governmental agency, which is managing by far the largest operation of Japan’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) for over 150 countries. I was assigned to the government of India as a community development officer.
In order to improve farmers’ income and lifestyles, I conducted research first and coordinated awareness programs aligned with the research results.
Contributions
- Analyzed the condition of 200 Indian sericultural farmers through research and monthly visits
- Coordinated the Mulberry Paper Project with collaboration among farmers, Ministry of Textiles (Government of India) and local companies
- Empowered 100 farmers by establishing five self-help groups and encouraged strong community relationships, contributing to a 25% growth in income
