Hi, I’m Kazuki Saito, graduated Design and Development of Digital Games program at Teachers College, Columbia University.

While joining some projects as a technology coordinator and game designer, I am investigating how to reach instructional goals with various technologies: Learning Management System (LMS), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR) and games.

Currently, I have been tailoring the instructional videos and VR platform for epistemology class at Columbia University. Starting from needs assessment of Subject Matter Expert (SME) and determination of learning goals, our team has designed 3D molecule models, instructional videos of them, and VR-based interactive platforms for these models.

I organized the learning management system of our university’s one summer workshop named Reimagining Education Summer Institute (RESI). I designed a Canvas platform by applying HTML and CSS knowledge aligned with our team’s instructional goals.

In addition, I have also participated in a practical project at my lab, the DREAMS Project, and developing my knowledge of creating educational VR applications by collaborating with actual users. We experienced needs assessment of New York public school students and teachers and allowed them to play our prototype design. Throughout this project, I wrote the paper about various context of applying VR for educational situations, which was accepted to the Immersive Learning Research Network conference.
